Well i've been playing DiRT 2 for a little over a week now on and off and i have to say it's alot more fun than i thought it was going to be, the rush off trying to get a perfect drift round a corner then desperately trying to get the car back straight because you were going too fast and then hitting a dip in the road bouncing and sliding onto the grass, doh!
In DiRT 2 there are a number of very challenging different events from the good old rally cross races to the new raid mode which see's your rally cars replaced by buggies and trucks as you race your way through very hazardous tracks, which if your as bad as me will take you awhile to complete because i kept smashin my buggy to bits! A very good all round package i think from Codemaster's with dozens of excellent cars and lots of liveries, toys and challenges everywhere you look and it doesn't matter what difficulty you set you can change it whenever you like so if a course is too hard just lower the difficulty for that race, you will have so much fun. Even if you do get bored with a certain race type or challenge you can switch to another country and start a totally different type of race on some new roads/dirt.
The reason behind why this is so entertaining is it's look and feel. Handling on Colin Mcrae games in the past i feel have been exceptional and DiRT 2 is certainly up there with the best, some people have complained it is too arcdadey but in terms of pick up and play and the ammount of fun you can have with this game i would definetly say a big thumbs up to Codemasters.
I think the only criticism's i really have of the game is that for some strange reason Codemaster's have took out weather effect's entirely from the game so no stages where you can only just see the corner through the snow. Also they have took out the need to repair after races so you can smash your car to pieces and know that it aint gunna cost you any cash to repair ready for the next race.
But anyways overall i think this is a quality game and anyone who fancies abit of a laugh should def look this game up.
