Issue #12: To the Dark Tower Below is going live next week, and it offers much new content and tons of fresh features!
Those who purchase Issue #12 will get access to an all new Dungeon in Tokyo, The Manufactory, underneath the massive Orochi tower. When Issue #12 launches you will learn much more about the new Dungeon and the horrors which lurk within.
But there will also be many changes and brutal new challenges for everyone in the game. Here are the features you can enjoy when Issue #12 goes live:
Brand New Daily Challenges
We are introducing the all new Challenge system! You can enjoy four Daily and six Weekly Challenges which will offer great rewards. These Challenges may for example ask you to do specific Missions, take on Dungeons, complete Scenarios or take part in Player versus Player battles.
The all new Challenge Journal interface has been created to show you which Challenges are available. Doing Challenges is of course completely optional, but they can be a very good guide for showing you all the different activities available in The Secret World, and they will reward you with the awesome new Marks of the Pantheon!
All New Token System
The Secret World has many tokens and currencies. From Sequins to Marks of Venice or Aurei of Initiation, to name a few. When Issue #12 launches all these types of tokens will be combined into a single type - Black Bullion. You will be able to acquire Black Bullion from most of the content in the game, like Missions, Dungeons, PvP or Scenarios etc, and you will be able to use these tokens to get your hands on almost anything.
We are also introducing the new Marks of the Pantheon as an even more valuable type of token. You will be able to use these new tokens to improve Weapons and Talismans to all new heights of power! You will need Marks of the Pantheon to improve your Epic gear from 10.5 to 10.7. You can get these new tokens through the Daily Challenges or from defeating the toughest Dungeon bosses in the game.
There will be a cap on how many Black Bullion players can have at any time – Members can have a maximum of 2400 and non-Members can have 2000. To learn more about these changes and what will happen to you current tokens read this detailed forum post on the subject.
Raid Your Heart Out!
Issue #12 brings great changes to the Raids in The Secret World. In addition to the New York Raid, you will now be able to take on two more Raids on a regular basis!.
We are introducing a ten man Raid to battle the Bird of the Zero Point Pathogen (better known as Flappy). So if you want a brutal challenge, head into the depths of Agartha for the fight of a lifetime!
You can also battle the Eidolon of the Outer Dark on N'gha-Pei the Corpse-Island without going through the process of gathering Lair patterns. You enter this Raid from the boat in Kingsmouth harbor, and it can be repeated every three days like the other Raids. All three Raids will offer similar excellent rewards.
Massive New Bosses
You will be able to battle brutal world bosses without taking part in any special event. The final challenge in the Lair system is no longer the Eidolon, but instead three huge bosses from each of the main regions of the game.
You can take on The Abyssopelagic Horror in the Savage Coast, Kenememti the Fear Eater in the Scorched Desert and Bunica Padurii in the Shadowy Forest. These brutal bosses do not only give those who spawn them Epic Signets, but will also grant good loot (a Rare Signet and possibly even better) to anyone else who helps defeat them!
The Social window on your main menu has been improved and expanded. It is now a better tool for finding groups of players who wish to do the same things as you. Sign up for any activity you like and add a comment to explain exactly what you are looking for.
Perhaps you just want someone to trade with, maybe you want to do a Scenario in the Mansion on Elite difficulty or you would like to gather a group of players to do the Eidolon Raid? You can do it all in the improved Social window!
