 The Alpha is finished the NDA lifted and closed Beta begins.
Blizzard have confirmed they have begun to send out invitations to people who opted in to the Beta testing of Cataclysm. The NDA is also lifted which means information will be pouring in from all over the place.

IRVINE, Calif. – June 30, 2010 – Blizzard Entertainment announced today that the closed beta test for Cataclysm™, its highly anticipated new expansion for World of Warcraft®, has begun. The company has started issuing invitations to participate in the testing process to a wide range of players from around the world who signed up via their Battle.net® accounts. While enjoying an early look at the game, beta testers will provide valuable feedback to help Blizzard Entertainment find bugs, address balance issues, and polish the new content.
"Our focus with Cataclysm has been to build on the knowledge we've gained through the previous expansions to deliver the best, most compelling World of Warcraft content for our players to date," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "Gathering focused feedback during the beta test will go a long way in helping us reach that goal when we launch Cataclysm later this year."
Cataclysm is the third expansion for World of Warcraft, the most popular subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the world. The first two expansions, The Burning Crusade® and Wrath of the Lich King®, each shattered PC game sales records upon their release. In Cataclysm, the face of Azeroth will be forever altered by the return of the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing. Players will explore once-familiar areas of the world that have now been reshaped by the devastation and filled with new adventures. In an effort to survive the planet-shattering cataclysm, two new playable races -- worgen and goblins -- will join the struggle between the Alliance and the Horde. As players journey to the new level cap of 85, they'll discover newly revealed locations, acquire new levels of power, and come face to face with Deathwing in a battle to determine the fate of the world.

 Well WOW Fans path 3.3.5 has been out in the US for a week and the EU now get to update to this today.

Assault on the Ruby Sanctum
For ages the red dragonflight and its noble matriarch, Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, have dedicated themselves to preserving all life on Azeroth. Recently, the very heart of this virtuous dragonflight has come under threat.
An eerie silence has settled over the Ruby Sanctum, the red dragonflight's sacred lair within the Chamber of the Aspects. This troubling development has led to fears that the sanctum, home to Azeroth's largest clutch of red dragon eggs, has been breached by an unknown, sinister force. If these claims are true and immediate action is not taken, the benevolent red dragonflight might be crippled forever.

World of Warcraft “Tap Chat”

A few games sites this morning have reported about a new piece of hardware from Creative called the “Tap Chat”.
It’s a foot pedal that works in conjunction with the World of Warcraft headset and perhaps others although I cannot confirm that yet. Whilst the games sites have talked about it the posts and announcements that were on Blizzards own site have since been removed and the only details on this are on the UK Creative Store Website.
Its seems odd for all the details to be removed. Will I get one? Probably not as with the new features in TS3 it’s easy to setup TS to work exactly how you want to.

Blizzard have Officially Announced the Cataclysm Beta - European Guild Contest
Guildmasters, it’s time to earn you and your guildmates a gaze into the Cataclysm! Gather your friends, head over to your favourite spot and showcase your impressive photography skills. Every week, for five weeks, the 100 most impressive screenshots will earn you and your guild 10 keycodes to access the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Beta!
What are you waiting for? All you need to do is take a screenshot of you and your guild showing off your creativity in terms of breath-taking landscapes, lighting, impressive camera angles and epic poses. The only requirement is that the word “Cataclysm!” is displayed in a chat bubble together with your character and guild names! Please remember that submissions missing the chat bubble and guild name tags will be ineligible to win.
The Guildmaster will then proceed to send us the screenshot and their selection of 10 Battle.net account e-mail addresses using the dedicated webform.
Here is some advice to help you with your submissions:
- Use the environment to your advantage! Points of interest, dungeons, even bosses are there to help you.
- Pimp your screenshot by setting the in-game graphics settings to the max! There is no need to worry about your frame rate since the submission is a still image.
- We strongly encourage you to disable your addons while taking the screenshot. Keep the default interface on and capture your picture of awesomeness!
- Don't forget to read the contest rules.

Cataclysm Changes

With E3 news beginning to come out I am going to aim to give you as much info as possible on the games we play and maybe playing in the future.
We start with the big changes happening with Blizzards expansion for WOW, Cataclysm.
Here are the “Bullet Points” that we know are happening.
- Guild Levelling is still on the cards but will not be as previously announced;
- Patch of the Titans will not be in the game;
- 1st Instance will be “The Bastion on Twilight”;
- Another tier of Glyphs will be introduced;
- Archaeology will be for lore and cosmetic only;
- Raids and Dungeons can be spilt and ID’s changed;
As usual there are man sites covering the news so rather than replicate this on our site I will simply post you in the direction of 2 main posts so far:
